MARSHLAND

Jaclyn Woods

I was sinking,
into marshland.
Suction pulling me,
down.
I was laughing,
gleefully.
I was smiling.
Jumped forward,
splashed raindrops,
into blue skies.
I kicked green water
All over me -
Wanted to feel,
Renewed.
To understand it all.
To click.

But I discovered nothing.
And I doubt I ever will.
