Acceptance

Heather Rodwell

I subdue myself to a state society accepts
To a state they would never question,
    to a state
Where the world is at peace
    with itself.
Where life is at ease
Lying on the beach
    of Destiny -
The child of creation;
The sad inspired dream
    called Hope.

The state we all wish to be in.
We all wish for the simpleness
Of the state of Love.
Yet the World
    is cruel,
Merciless
And unwavering.

Cower in a corner, dear dreamers
Hide from the world,
Hide from life,
From your own existence.
It's all you can do
To protect yourself
From the evil of life.
