Elemental Nothingness

Heather Rodwell

Many mens souls were whipped out and lashed at.
In a tiny cabinet space, galaxies were destroyed.
Years went missing to never be seen again,
The sun cackled and sped away.
So in the dark, chaos reigned for centuries;
Day became night, night became dead.
The moon was never seen again.
Stars frowned at what once was known as Earth.
An electrical globe replaced the sun,
And central heating kept us from refrigerating.
Life was more precious and sought after
Than any precious jewel or metal now.
Humans began to want to stay alive
And hated others who took their own.
The world was a better place;
They had less to live for
But more will to live.
