The End of the World

Heather Rodwell

The sky collides with the mysteries
Of the earth
Tearing the clouds
Into shreds of rain
Cascading down upon the gravel.
The world begins to flood
Melting rock into quicksand.
Buildings and trees get sucked into the core of the earth
By a whirlpool of fire.
Gravity stops and flakes of land
Collide with neighbouring planets
Creating an explosion in outer space.
A thin white light appears on the horizon
And in a flash
Nothing remains.
