Depression

Heather Rodwell

Depression is a loneliness deep inside your soul.
It’s like you’re falling through a never-ending pitch black hole
Your brain twists and turns, and confusion builds up inside
It’s like you’re at an end, the road to suicide.
You have no more confidence, nothing more to gain
And it feels as though you’re cornered, vulnerable to pain.
You have no understanding to why this pain is so
But all you’re certain of right now is that you want to go.
Crying is no solution – all it does is tire you out,
You just have to release this pain, you want to scream and shout.
Never keep it inside you, coz all it’ll do is grow
And you’ll want to cut your wrists to watch the blood flow.
Depression can lead you to live your life in fear
Of those who are around you, even loved ones that are near.
Sometimes all you want to do is sit alone and sob,
Sitting on the damp concrete, your head begins to throb.
Staring at the walls, the room begins to spin
Then you realize you’re crying about nothing-
It’s just a phase you’re in!
